Hi! I'm trying to figure out what material my wall is made of so that I can hang pictures and a picture shelf. Does anyone know, and also how to drill into the wall afterwards?

Wall material:
Hard to see. Something thin - so either masonite (considering how it's cracked after a hammer blow) or possibly renovation plasterboard!? However, the holes look more like very thin chipboard ...
When was it built?
 
Thank you! I know the apartment was built in 1929, but I don't know if the wall is that old.
 
What comes out if you drill a small hole?
 
I drilled with a hammer drill and it went through to a cavity in the middle. Some kind of gravel came out, but the wall is not hard like concrete or brick. It left a pile of dirt, I'm not sure how to describe it exactly. But I couldn't insert a plug because the wall kind of got hollowed out by it.
 
Render outer surface that is painted, behind it probably slag plates or light concrete.

It seems to be concrete hollow brick. It is usually quite porous.
