Hello!
I'm about to install a vapor barrier in the ceiling of our bedroom, as we have an extra-insulated cold attic. I've checked the forums but still don't know what to do.
For now, when I see the tongue-and-groove and how dry the roofing paper was that I removed, it feels very strange to put in a plastic layer. If I install it below the tongue-and-groove and then staple the plastic, it will create an air gap. What happens if, unexpectedly, some moisture gets in there? It will have a lot of trouble being ventilated out upward through all the layers to the attic.
Question 1: Isn't it better to continue using organic materials that can let through any potential moisture?
Question 2: Should the plastic also be stapled/glued to the interior walls?
Hoping for answers on this excellent site.
K.
