What does HDF stand for?
Yes, as the topic suggests, what does HDF stand for?
As I understand it, the F is supposed to mean something related to voltage, but the rest?
(though in some English explanation)
We just say HålDäck, so one wonders about the F.
Hope someone can help a bit
Regards

High Density Fibreboard, type masonite. It is made from finer materials than MDF.
Yep:
"The prefabricated floor slabs or elements used are often of the type HD/F, which stands for 'hollow core, prestressed.' This means that the slabs have large through channels as cutouts to reduce material consumption and weight, and the reinforcement in the slabs is prestressed, resulting in the entire slab being slightly curved like an arch bridge."

Bonan and Johan, if you had read my entire first post you would have understood that it wasn't about any wood material and would not have spoken out.
f91jsw and Anaitis thanks for the help, I had some hint that it was tension but not the word
but now I know Förspännig

Actually not. I was just as convinced that it was about ordinary wood material as you were about concrete material. Still see nothing in the text that indicates it is concrete, possibly "HålDäck" but it sounds like a general term for anything to me.Dzollero said:
Oh well. Discussion forums are for discussions. Like this thread.
I have received an answer to my question, so there's nothing more to discuss.Johan Gunverth said:Actually not. If you didn't know that HålDäck has nothing to do with skvmaterial, I understand why you didn't react to the question as I intended. I'll write more clearly next time. Take care.

That it is calculated for a certain deflection in the middle, so it is tensioned upwards to compensate for it.
