Hello. I am a new owner of a small house built in 1905. I've started a bedroom project on the partially uninsulated attic. I am also very new to renovations.
There is a room that had been insulated in the ceiling. The ceiling height was so low that I decided to take down what turned out to be three ceilings with accompanying insulation of sawdust.
On the walls, I found green-painted beadboard that will remain. But on a short wall against the chimney, there was a patchwork of boards that I took down, and that's when the problem arose.
Charcoal dust leaks between the nailed boards and also against the chimney.
So I need to nail a new wall here. But how do I seal between the boards and against the chimney to stop the charcoal dust from leaking out? Help!!
