I am going to lay a Platon mat in a room in the basement.
Can I put the new floor down now, since in the spring we are going to remove the old furnace (we have to take the furnace through the room where the floor is being laid), I was wondering if the Platon mat can handle the weight of the furnace? I imagine that the "small bubbles" on the mat can easily be compressed, or am I wrong?
And I want to lay the floor now to make it nice and neat, but I'm not really sure.
A furnace weighs a certain number of kilos, and I can't imagine that the Platon mat can handle this.

Grateful for an answer.

If the floor you lay on top of the Platon mat can support the boiler, then the Platon mat is likely to do the same.

What you need to do when the boiler is to be removed is to protect the floor with some form of sheet material, e.g. plywood. This way, the load from the wheels is distributed over a larger area.

Ok, good and straightforward answer! Thanks! ;D
