The posts have been recently cast and will be plastered next year. The surface will be splashed/roughcast with a sprayer. I'm following a guy on YouTube with 40 years of plastering experience, and according to him, you shouldn't use mesh or primer. Instead, first apply a scratch coat about 1/4 inch thick, approximately 6 mm. A layer that is scraped horizontally, and then the final layer is applied with the sprayer. Four years ago, I applied a slurry (diluted mortar) to a wall of leca blocks. After that, I sprayed mortar with the sprayer. Can I do the same with the concrete posts? Of course, I dampen the surfaces before each layer. According to Finja, you should prime and mesh... Is there a difference in the cement between the USA and Sweden? Or different proportions? There they use 1:6, and here I've seen 1:5. What sand size is recommended? 0-3 mm?
