Hi, in the hallway where I have moved in, you can see stripes on the inner wall, like a hardened area. It seems like the wall is wavy/bulging out a bit, what could it be due to? I am not aware of any water damage, not sure if I posted in the right forum. Behind the wall are the kitchen and laundry room.

Joints between the panels that are plastered on accord.

Is there something that needs to be done about it? Sorry, but I'm completely useless at this, it's the first time I own something myself.

Just close one eye as you walk past.

Is it new construction? If so, you can report it to the contractor and let them investigate. Even if they want to do something, they will probably wait until the two-year inspection, that's what they have done where I've lived.

But HOW wavy is the wall, place a straightedge/long ruler there.
With grazing light, very small undulations are visible.

If you place a slightly stronger lamp closer to the camera, it will disappear. It's only an aesthetic issue.

If you put up a patterned wallpaper, paintings, or something, it will disappear as well.

Here you can see via the skirting on the floor that it bulges out a little.

  • Baseboard along the floor shows a slight protrusion.

Unfortunately not, it's built in the 90s on townhouses that are condominiums.

It's true that it disappears, but check out the latest picture. I was a little more worried that it bulges out a bit. That being said, I know pretty much nothing, so it's nice to have joined this forum hahaha

That's how it is for me in some places too. It depends on poorly stored gipsskivor, at least in my case. Here, gipsskivor have been stored in unheated spaces with insufficient support, causing them to warp slightly. The advantage is that it's easier to find where the studs in the wall are. :):(
