Hello,
What should I choose?
I have water-based underfloor heating in the slab on the ground floor. I also have a small upper floor/loft on a small part of the house, about 40 sqm. On this upper floor/loft, there is currently an insulated beam floor and a chipboard floor. The roof and walls are insulated. However, there is no heating. Therefore, I am considering extending water-based underfloor heating to this floor as well and installing it on either grooved chipboard panels or grooved EPS boards.
These are intended to be laid on top of the already existing chipboard floor.
Question: does it matter what I choose when it comes to impact noise down to the ground floor?
Does it have any other significance?
EPS is 16 mm and has 12 mm pipes, while chipboard is 22 mm and has 16 mm pipes.
Grateful for input ☺️

When it comes to sound, the heavier the material, the better. But when it comes to economy, it's easiest to go with sparse paneling that you screw into the floor chipboard and lay the pipe in with heating plates.

What kind of flooring are you going to have on the underfloor heating?

It is intended to lay parquet flooring.

Keep in mind that 12 slang can cover a max of about 6 sqm on a loop, whereas 16/17 can handle about 12-16 and 20 somewhere up to 25.

How many rooms are there on the upper floor?

It will be a room of 40 sqm and I thought of laying three loops in it, should work well.
