Hello!

We are in the process of renovating our wardrobe and would like both construction and style advice on how to proceed.

The previous wardrobe was built with wooden frames covered with MDF panels. The base is concrete, and we want to install sliding doors.

Option 1: Retain the ceiling and the left wall and cover them with new MDF panels. The sliding doors will thus be slightly framed by "false walls."

Option 2: Tear down the wooden frames, skim coat the walls and ceiling (possibly hiring a professional for that), and have sliding doors that cover the entire opening up to the real wall.

Which option would you go for and why?

Would have removed the wall, with the reservation that you should check the measurements of the desired sliding doors first. When we bought doors, we chose to say the wall was 2 cm shorter than it was to get slightly smaller doors (cheaper and more practical). 2 doors are best, 3 doors require 3 tracks. It doesn't look like you will need more than 2 doors, but check that. If removing the wall piece means you need 3 doors, I would consider leaving it in place.
