Want to turn white box into wood... build new, or tape? *image*

Bought a sink and got a box with it for free.
White box doesn't match, I would prefer dark wood, lacquered oak or something.

But building a completely new one is expensive even if it's a simple construction.

I'm considering using oak-tape on the sides, then making ONE (large) custom door in real wood.

Or what other options are there? I have seen a guy who is amazing at painting so they look like anything, but he lives too far away and is surely busy/expensive.
