Hello! We are finally in the process of renovating the basement, and are seeking some advice and experiences. The house is a small EgnaHem house from the 40s and is 68 square meters.

We currently have a company here that is draining the entire foundation and installing double "isodrän" boards. The same company will then come in and break up the basement floor, insulate, and install water-based underfloor heating. In the basement, there will be a bathroom, laundry room, walk-in closet, guest room/future bedroom.

Now we are thinking about what to do with the walls. We have torn out the old framed walls with wooden studs, insulation, and 15 ant nests. As these have been damp, the plaster behind them is in very poor condition.

I'm a bit tempted to just plaster the walls and paint them, but will it feel cold on the part of the wall that is above ground and thus not insulated?

The alternative is thin metal studs and then OSB+gypsum board. Good for mounting, and perhaps easier to get a nice surface finish. How risky is this construction in a heated basement? I also want to preserve the square centimeters, as the rooms are already very small :)

Ytong Multipor!
I used it in my basement and now the walls feel warm and cozy, completely without the risk of trapped moisture.
Google it!
