After exactly one year in the house, the upper floor and facade are renovated, and then the calm sets in. -No. After all, there is a basement that needs some attention.
So this weekend, an old woven wallpaper in the basement was torn down. Naturally, there was a lovely red-orange plastic paint behind it. However, it was quite okay to remove with a bit of force.
Anyway, I realize that to get the perfect surface, I need to replaster the wall. However, I recognize my own limitations and it will never be as good as my compulsive behavior allows. However, I'm considering VÄGGTEGEL!
And this is where the questions begin to arise.
Question 1: I want an uneven wall tile. So then I guess I don't need to replaster the entire wall, just repair it. Right or wrong?
Question 2: I naturally want a wall that "breathes" and does not trap moisture. Will this be a problem? I was thinking of wall tiles made of lightweight concrete.
For more background: The wall is an exterior wall. The house is from 1958. The plaster is KC. The usual paint peeling where the floor meets the wall was there. However, I believe that the plastic paint and woven wallpaper are a contributing factor.
The final question is whether I am completely out of my mind and should simply replaster and paint with silicate paint.
Best regards
