I have received tips here and elsewhere to ditch the French wood screw and go with Essve's WAF instead. However, it seems hopelessly difficult to obtain. Out of stock at K-Rauta and Bauhaus doesn't have them (as far as I can see).
Found something similar from SPAX, would this work?

Bauhaus had their own variant, but only up to 50 mm:

K-Rauta also had their own variant (which, however, was not available in the store
)
Intended to be used for splicing a beam and attaching a post to a post base. What should I look for?

VSB as in Linköping sold at K-bygg has a good selection of equivalent screws. I would never use fransk again when you can use these together with an impact driver.
