Ventilation without eaves?

How do you usually solve the ventilation of the raw board when there is no eaves? I'm thinking the gutter will be almost flush against the panel.
I've seen that many place a fascia board against the panel with about a 5-10mm gap, but I think that seems to be a rather small gap for ventilation?

What type of roofing do you have?

It will be a metal roof (click or seam) directly on the underlayment

Can't you extend the roof by about 20mm so you get ventilation? Otherwise, I recommend not building without eaves! A sturdy eaves protects the house.
