We are renovating our basement and have installed a platon mat with an edge, on top of which are subflooring and parquet flooring. Now it's time to install the baseboards and I've noticed that the ventilated baseboards are quite unattractive. I would prefer something more in the farmhouse style but can't mill my own moldings.
I was at a hardware store and saw that there are baseboards that can be installed with clips. These have an air gap behind them, so if I were to drill or create some "ventilation holes," it should work well to use these, right? In that case, I'm considering gluing them to the wall with "no more nails" instead of using clips.
Air gap behind?
Where / How?
Doesn't look like they're ventilated so that any floor moisture can be vented away. Especially not if they are glued down.
Ah, now I see you were going to drill/mill... Will it look good on foil? Doubtful, I would say.
It can work technically if there's an air gap all the way from Platon to the room.
