Vapor barrier wall in purchased house wrong side hidden defect

The "new" neighbor had a similar situation; he had the entire house corrected, and the insurance covered the cost. It was thus considered a hidden defect. The discovery was made when a tradesman was about to remodel the porch. The previous owner had a company that switched from an aluminum facade to lock paneling, a catastrophe how a company can make such a fundamental mistake, absolutely incredible!
