Just been out to buy post holders and chemical anchor compound and thought of starting to drill the holes for the holders (post holders with U profile). About 4-5 cm down was quite an annoying rebar that can hardly be drilled through with a smaller drill. The L-brace is 80mm thick and I will be mounting a fence with 70mm posts. Has anyone encountered the same problem or has a smooth solution to this that doesn't look awful? ☺

Hi!
Curious if you solved it?
We're considering doing the same solution by drilling and attaching post holders to the L-bracket.
Curious about how you did it. And if it was difficult to drill into the L-bracket?

I solved it in a good way. Can publish tomorrow when it gets light, then I'll add a picture too ☺

I am also curious, how did the solution turn out?

Sorry for being busy My solution turned out like this.
I bought Fischer chemical anchor mortar which was used to fix the threaded rods in the L support. I didn’t want to use an expander due to the risk of cracking the concrete..
The brackets were purchased from Biltema.
This solution was the best I could come up with. A newly built wooden fence supported by brackets along a dirt path beside a modern white house with a garden. Steel beam secured with bolts and brackets to a concrete base. Green pipes visible below.

If anyone else has a good solution, please post it.

  • Wooden slatted fence attached to a concrete base with metal brackets and threaded rods. Installed to avoid concrete damage.

Wooden railing on concrete wall with metal pipes, beside a parked car, showcasing a stable construction technique without drilling supports.
This is how I did it without drilling into the supports. It turned out stable and good, which I wasn't so sure about when I was drawing.

How wide do you have between the posts?
I'm considering a similar solution when I'm going to build a fence/privacy screen. However, I'm concerned about how durable it is against wind and the like.

Hey there. Just went out and measured. I've let the length of the L-supports determine it and just divided it up so it looks good. Had everything from 130cm to 150cm and it's sturdy as heck.

  • Suburban street with red-roofed houses, wooden fence, grassy lawn, bare trees, and gray sky.
  • A suburban street view with houses, a wooden fence, and a lawn in the foreground. Visible reflections on a window.
  • View of a modern gray deck with a wooden fence, seen through a glass door. In the background, there's a brick building and trees.

The lawn looks terrible, I know

Haha. Not surprising this time of year.. Thanks for the quick reply! I'm considering this type of variant myself (see image) and hope it can work. My L supports are in tiers, so there will be either 1 or 2 meters between the posts.
Metal post shoe for construction from Biltema, model 71x60x150, priced at 24.90 kr.

Probably works quite well with such a pole holder too. Just keep one thing in mind, the reinforcement bar is in the middle of the element so you will likely have to drill 2 new holes for mounting.

Have you attached the H-shaped post support to the concrete or does it just rest on top?

It rests on the concrete, but the planks clamp with the help of the stud bolt through, I’ve had to retighten it a couple of times!

Hi. We are also planning to put up a fence on L-support. Has your solution worked well?
