Have just started a major project of a complete renovation of an old farmhouse from the 1800s, and I want to install underfloor heating for the incredible comfort it provides. What should we consider, having just lifted the floorboards towards the outer wall, and it’s dry and fine, and the timber beams are in excellent condition. What do you think we should use as material instead of what we're taking out, leca balls or grateful for tips/ Jocke

Welcome to the forum!

In addition to the fact that the floor must be insulated if you want to avoid having a very expensive heating system, you will also experience an uncomfortable draft from the windows if they are not sealed to the standard of today's houses.
