Does anyone know what type of strings these are?
Used for hanging, so they should be quite strong.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a braided synthetic rope.
Go to a boat accessories store and buy something about 8 mm thick.
Anything will probably do.

Braided synthetic rope in the picture.
What does such a rope mean/include?
Synthetic? Is it like nylon?

The material can be polyester or polyethylene or polypropylene (cheapest).

There are different qualities. The cheapest (often polypropylene) degrade in sunlight and water. The more expensive ones last longer.

There are different thicknesses, and the strength is often stated on the roll.
