I have constructed a ceiling/wall mount for my TV that will be installed in a sloped ceiling.

The parts that attach to the ceiling are 4 angle irons, which I plan to fasten with 4 screws each. The ceiling is a tretex board with tongued and grooved boards behind it.

The screw options I am considering are:

6mm hex lag bolt or 5 mm wood screw with a round head.

The wood screw is clearly simpler and looks better, but I wonder if it will hold. The TV is a 50" plasma weighing about 40kg.

What do you think, should I choose the hex lag or the wood screw?

Both hold.

Ok, then I think I'll attach them with the wood screw first. When everything is in place, it's quite easy to switch to the fransoserna, and it feels like it won't hold.
