We will be putting up masonite or tretex on log walls and want to wallpaper these. From what I understand, you put some form of strip over the seams on the masonite before wallpapering. But what do you do if you put tretex?

What would you prefer - tretex or masonite? It's a country house where we spend a long time during the summer, celebrate Christmas, etc. But it's not heated all year round. We don't want gypsum :) The house was built around 1830.

Use plasterboard, tretex is crap. But if you're going to go ahead with it, you'll either need to use a "dry strip" or oil-based primer, joint compound with a composite strip and wallpaper over it and hope it doesn't crack.
