We will be putting up masonite or tretex on log walls and want to wallpaper these. From what I understand, you put some form of strip over the seams on the masonite before wallpapering. But what do you do if you put tretex?
What would you prefer - tretex or masonite? It's a country house where we spend a long time during the summer, celebrate Christmas, etc. But it's not heated all year round. We don't want gypsum The house was built around 1830.
Use plasterboard, tretex is crap. But if you're going to go ahead with it, you'll either need to use a "dry strip" or oil-based primer, joint compound with a composite strip and wallpaper over it and hope it doesn't crack.
