Hi,

I have an apartment from the 60s-70s where between the two bedrooms there are built-in wardrobes from each side. Behind them, there is a wall of light concrete.

Now I have torn down two of these inner wardrobes, about 110cm wide, 60cm deep, and 250cm high.

In a previous residence, I just replaced them with Pax wardrobes.

This time, I was thinking of building a small desk area there, where the plan was just to skim coat them and then paint.

However, I discovered that the sound insulation became much worse between the bedrooms, what is the best way to solve that? Should I put up drywall, MDF or something similar?

I will screw up some overhead cabinets at the top and a countertop for the desk in the opening and paint it in the same color as the room so nothing special. Just the sound that ruined the original plan.

Put up framing, add insulation, and install two layers of plasterboard with the layers staggered so that the outer layer covers the seams of the inner layer. Feel free to use steel studs.
