Tools for cutting tongue and groove paneling?

Beginner's question:
I need to cut a beadboard panel and wonder which tool handles it best. The panel is about 10 mm thick.
Should I use a jigsaw, circular saw, or something else?
It's important that it cuts straight and doesn't damage the panel.

Alternatively, you can build a miter box for the circular saw, it's basically the same thing.

Don't know if I'm reading between the lines, but I perceive the question as if the panel is already up on a wall?
But I may be completely wrong. :blushing:

If it's up, isn't a circular saw the best alternative?

If it's mounted, a plunge saw is the only option.

Oh no, I might have been a bit unclear. I am going to mount the panel on the wall but need to cut it on the length (2.45 m) to adjust the width.

Not cut, split.
Jigsaw works poorly. Works better with the circular saw if you use the fence.

A handsaw isn't so bad either. You cut the board in less time than it takes to fix the fence for the circular saw.

At the moment, I'm using a miter saw when cutting my panel. It works well, it's straight, and you can cut a stack at once. I've mounted the saw on a sawhorse, and for support on the sides, two other sawhorses, which makes it easy to handle long lengths

If you're a beginner, you can cut many wall panels incorrectly all at once if you do it as rationally as Rip

Sure, it probably happened sometime, really annoying , so measure carefully first!
It's more troublesome to mess it up with a handsaw d^_^b!
