Sitting and pondering what to invest in for behind the drywall in the new house. Until today, I've primarily leaned towards chipboard on most walls and possibly plywood where heavier things need to be hung. I've also considered raw plank but discarded it because it would be so much work. Today I saw a neighbor installing raw plank panels on their roof, and it seemed quite smooth, so I started thinking about whether one could use that behind the drywall. Has anyone tried it?

OSB is another option.

Well, that's also an option that I think I'll skip. Quite a bit more expensive than particleboard but not that much better. Not much cheaper than plywood or raw planks but quite a lot worse. So it kind of falls between the cracks. However, I saw that the prices for raw plank doors seem quite steep, so I'll probably skip that idea. Will probably go with the original plan anyway.
