Reading about which nails to use when toe-nailing wall studs to the sill vs. nailing through the sill.

Then I read about what applies in the USA (since it's usually easiest to find information from there).

They say to use 2 pieces of 16d nails (3.5 inches), which is about 89 mm when nailing through the sill. Or 4 pieces of 8d (2.5 inches), which is about 63 mm. This likely applies to 2x4 studs.

Doesn't 63 mm seem pretty short?

What are the rules in Sweden?

How do you carpenters do it?

Normally, you would use regular 4" nails.
But the stud only needs to be fastened snugly, so almost anything will work. Boards and paneling on the walls, read the studs at the sill.

nail with four-inch. 2 from each side (minimum, more if it's for example 2x8). I am a carpenter.
