I have a balcony with wooden beams with plywood on top and a waterproof membrane/mat of some sort, it's about 5-7 mm thick and likely has some oil content, I would guess. It has held up well for 15 years but needs to be replaced now due to mechanical damage. There are many different types of "rubber" mats. Can anyone suggest what might be best to lay as a new "mat"/waterproofing layer? It will be on a balcony, must withstand foot traffic, resist weather and wind, and be able to be adhered or attached well to the substrate (wood/plywood).

Thanks in advance!
