Hello
We have purchased a door closer as shown in the picture. However, the depth of the frame that the door sits in is way too large for it to function. If we mount it as shown in the picture, the arm is too short. It feels a bit disappointing to have to take out the welder to extend the threaded rod. Are there any other variants you can recommend?
And do you know how exterior doors are usually constructed? Is there a wooden frame around? I was thinking so you have something to screw into when attaching the arm to the door.
Best regards, Tomas, thank you in advance

We bought a door closer according to the picture. But the depth of the frame where the door sits is way too large for it to work. If we place it as in the picture, the arm is too short. It feels a bit unfortunate to have to bring out the welder and extend the threaded rod. Are there any other variants you can suggest?

Hi, I don't know if this door closer (Habo) has an angle bracket as an accessory, if so you can solve the problem. When it comes to door closers, I recommend Assa as number 1 and Dorma as number 2. I know they cost at least three times more than the model you have, but if you check on Tradera there are very cheap options. If you wish, I can send some mounting options that I have photographed.
