We have a summer cottage built in the 60s where we are now thinking of fixing up the living room, which might be original since the house was built. There are currently cracks in the joints between the panels in the room, and the question is how advanced we should make it. According to the drawings, there's a 10mm building board (?) that is?... Masonite? I have the original drawings of the house that you can look at to perhaps give a bit more assistance on how we should solve it: Index of /stugan

I've considered putting drywall directly on the existing walls? I've also considered the option of putting wallpaper on the walls or, as I just got the tip, just putting fiberglass tape over the joints and plastering.

I would prefer not to make it too big of a project now that we have 2 small boys who require attention. We can do a bigger option in a few years when they can do the job for us ;)

I can also mention that the house is not heated in the winter...
