Question from an amateur: Beams in dimensions 45 x 195 and 45 x 220 are standard. Are 45 x 245, 45 x 270, and 45 x 295 mm also standard? I find many Danish results online, but no Swedish ones.

Any dimensions are available, but then it becomes glulam. It sounds expensive but it isn't, and it's stronger than "regular" wood. If you know what dimensions (including length) you need, you get it delivered and there is nothing left for the stove.
It's also straight, but if you want it crooked, that's arranged too (my 8-meter floor beams are 15 mm cambered).

Sure, a glued laminated beam is stronger and looks better in a ceiling. I was mostly thinking that really wide joists could look nice as a floor. The Danes seem to have prices under 50 SEK/m for 45x245, compared to a glued laminated beam at 42x180 that costs a bit over 100 SEK.prototypen said:

Baseco in Sorsele buys oversized timber and wedge-saws it into flooring, resulting in really wide floorboards.
