Tiling chimney, how to handle corners?
Yes, the chimney sweep has approved it all, even though the fan is only 80cm above the wood stove. He said that a 1m distance was more of a guideline, not a requirement. I can imagine it varies from chimney sweep to chimney sweep (considering what your chimney sweep said). Hope you manage to create something nice!
Glad it worked out - so that your beautiful creation doesn't become unusable!
Which hob did you choose, does it work well?¤ akila ¤ said:Here is the requested picture of our kitchen, and as you can see, there's still a lot of fixing left, ceiling, plinths, etc.
Regarding the stove, it's made of siporex and lime mortar (I think it was), painted with matte water-based wall paint and matte varnished on the flat surfaces for wiping ability.
The corners that the thread concerns turned out okay with painter's caulk and painted cut edge on the tiles. At least not so eye-catching since it's the same color all over.
I would have been 100% satisfied if it had rounder shapes, but was unfortunately outvoted by both my partner and the mason...
And what does the hood look like inside, is there a common fan for both stoves, or separate ducts?
The cooktop is an impulse purchase from Elgiganten, doesn't even have a user manual... I don't even know if Schott Ceran, which is written on it, is the brand or the model... But I'm half satisfied with it. It takes a bit too long to boil, but the touch buttons work well + it has beveled edges instead of an ugly metal edge.
My partner built the hood on a metal frame, so it's completely hollow. The two fans (didn't dare to risk just one at that height) are connected with a T-pipe to the same channel in the chimney.
