Tiles on marble?

Currently laying new flooring in the house. By the fireplace, there is a marble slab of ~0.5sqm, but it will end up below floor level with the new floor laid, so we are planning to tile over it. But how do you get the adhesive to stick to the marble?...or is there another trick?

It sticks. Just rough it up a bit first.
