I have a ledge (approximately 2m2) in my concrete staircase (indoors) that I want to cover with tiles. However, the tiles that are there today get cold in the winter since the ledge is embedded in the concrete exterior wall. To mitigate the worst floor chill, I was thinking of laying 20mm XPS which is glued with adhesive and then applying primer, adhesive, and tiles on top. No underfloor heating.

Does it work?

The floor heating manufacturer Ebeco's board solution Cable Board is quite similar.
