Cut 20mm outdoor tiles with a tile saw. Does it work?
I have a place where I need to cut and lay some pieces of 20mm self-supporting granite ceramic. That is, those self-supporting tiles that are 600x600 and 20mm thick. Is it possible to saw those with a regular tile saw that wet cuts in a water bath?
Common tile saw. I'm referring to the simplest small table saw sold in hardware stores for cheap money.
It's difficult to give you a good answer if you don't want to be specific about which saw you have. I suggest that it might not work particularly well, even if it would be possible to cut individual tiles if you have a very good blade.
I suggest that you rent, for example, a Husqvarna TS73R with an appropriate blade. It costs almost nothing and saves a lot of time if you're going to cut a bit more.

It works, surely. However, I don't think you would want to, as it will take a very long time to just cut a single tile. I think it's better to rent or even buy a larger model where the saw blade is pulled over the tile. I personally bought one at Jula for about 2500 SEK when I got tired of my small table saw.O Olf Oggler said:
I can now report that it is fine to cut 20mm granite ceramic with such a simple saw. The limitation is the table surface which provides somewhat weak support for 90x60 tiles.
