Hello!
I'm considering installing a tiled stove. They weigh about 1400 kg.
Does anyone here have experience with whether it's okay to mount one "straight up" on a concrete slab (made according to all the rules)?
An acquaintance told me that the slab should be reinforced around the area where it will be mounted, for example.
The seller says (of course) that there's no danger.
Thanks for the input!!

I am not a designer, but 1400 kg is quite a substantial point load, so I guess it depends on how the slab is designed and the ground conditions underneath whether it's feasible or not, as well as where on the slab the tile stove will be placed. Instinctively, it feels like a reinforcement would be necessary. Hopefully, more answers will come from someone with better construction knowledge than me...
If I want to have both belt and suspenders, and ask someone who works with this - is it typically a designer who can calculate it?
