Tile on tile - do you need to fill existing joints first?
Hi!
I'm going to tile over tile in the kitchen. I was thinking of using painter's wash, primer, and then adhesive.
The existing tiles are 60x30 and I'm planning to use much smaller tiles, around 10x20.
What do you think, do I need to fill in the existing grout lines first to get a really smooth surface, or is it fine as it is?

Hello again!
One more question on the topic of tile technique:
The idea is to end the tile on one side against a window (not against the window itself, of course, but the opening that goes into the window, niche?). It will create an outer corner where there will only be tile on one side. The other side of the outer corner will remain as it is today, "un-tiled."
I will set the tile with a half-tile offset so that it forms a T-junction between the tiles (I'm sure there's a fancy name for it, but I hope you know what I mean
)
The tiled surface, 60 cm wide, then continues to an inner corner where the tiling continues onwards.
How do I do this best without a corner strip?
Do I tile from the outer corner towards the inner corner? I think that no matter how I do it, the cut tiles will have the rough side out.
