Planning to partition a room and need to make the wall as thin as possible to avoid losing floor space. Considering 45mm steel studs (cc45), screwing 10mm OSB, and then gluing 6mm renovation plasterboard. Do you think that will work?

Why should you glue the plasterboard when you have OSB behind?

I think more about wooden studs in that case. Feels more stable than steel. Maybe take a 45x70 on the flat side to increase stability?

I put renovation gypsum on a concrete wall a while ago by gluing it and it felt convenient. Less spackling afterwards too.

The question is whether 45x70 is that much stiffer than steel stud 45? I'm going to run some pipes as well, so it feels easier with steel stud.

Yes, but now you have a frame with OSB to attach to. Gluing plasterboard to a concrete wall to get a smoother surface is something entirely different. It's also hard to distribute the glue evenly. Glue also adds thickness; if you take a renovation plasterboard that is 6mm and the glue maybe adds 2-3mm, you're almost at the thickness of a regular plasterboard.

Also compare the price of a regular board to a renovation plasterboard.

Good point about the adhesive building. I'll go with regular gips instead.
