I am planning to have vertical paneling, nail battens, 9mm gypsum, 45x45 horizontal studs, 45x195 vertical studs, and then 45x45 horizontal, horizontal OSB/plywood, and vertical gypsum.
It will be a fairly thick wall and I am wondering what dimension of nail battens I should use.
The wall will be 2.70m high, so the horizontal stud distances, from the bottom upwards, will be 300, 600, 600, 600, 600mm (=2.70m). The nail battens are expected to be on top of the gypsum and then directly above this horizontal stud.
I have seen that 28x70mm is often used, but there are also those who use 10mm thick (plywood?) (Faluhus).
Since the walls will be quite thick and the construction area is limited, I don't want to have 'too' large a gap.
Any suggestions, opinions?

28 mm is the minimum to get something to nail into. But if you're going to nail straight through nailing battens and drywall into the stud behind, you don't need it thicker than to create an air gap. 10-12 mm should be sufficient.
