Thick cardboard, where can it be found?
Hi,
I have seen some pendant lamps made from thick cardboard, and it would be fun to try making one in my own shape.

I googled a bit to find where you can get thick cardboard, and all I find are moving boxes, but they are not really optimal if you want to make a slightly larger lamp with a diameter of maybe 60-70 cm.
One option is, of course, to check with a store, e.g., an electronics store, but unfortunately, packaging is not infrequently damaged, that's why it's there.
Does anyone have suggestions on where to get thick cardboard without paying several 1000 kronor for it?

You have to distinguish between cardboard and corrugated cardboard; it’s a sensitive subject for people in the industry
(I'm not in the industry myself but I studied some paper production and know a few people in the industry.)
For cardboard, Iggesund Paperboard is the obvious choice; for instance, Apple uses their cardboard.
For corrugated cardboard, I don't know much besides having met a representative from StoraEnso earlier in June. He showcased a few different qualities of corrugated cardboard, one of which was 8 mm thick with hole properties similar to plywood, which was impressive.
But the easiest way is probably to have contacts within the industry; Iggesund mill has likely supplied quite a few daycare centers/schools in Hudiksvall municipality over the years, as well as a household or two

You're looking for wellpapp, probably forgot to mention it
Yes, exactly it's cardboard, specifically Iggesund makes cardboard for more expensive spirits, perfume, cigarettes, and other packaging like Apple.

If we now take it a step further, how have you planned to cut out these rings without deforming the cardboard/corrugated paper?

And have you tried cutting nice rings?

Not so sure that they need to be completely round figures, angular ones would also work, e.g., octet or hexagon.
But round shapes are possible if the paper isn't insanely hard, in that case the saw solves the problem.
