I have a staircase leading up to my upper floor, and at the end of the stairs, there is a short handrail just over a meter, and it's loose. It is mounted, or whatever we should call it, in single plasterboard, and neither of the two screws is secure. The nearest stud is about 10-15 cm away. I'm really scared that one of my little ones will grab this and pull it over themselves on the way up. How do I secure this so it stays without having to re-wallpaper??

Very thankful for any help!!

The first question is whether it's possible to move the holders to the railing? Is it a round railing with "napkin rings" or a plank model with screws straight through?

One could also make an outer construction where, for example, you have a covering board (painted nicely) that is attached to the studs, and then attach the handrail to this?

P.s. ´The handrail is loose´ sounds like a post about the supervisor at your workplace being at risk of getting fired ;)

Andersmc: it's of the type "plank with screws right through"

klaskarlsson: funny guy hehehe, lucky me I don't have a supervisor at my job... and if I had one and it was loose, maybe it's a different forum :D
