It's good that you have addressed the real problem. It shows that you are aware of the illness, and then it can be treated. If the air purifier alleviates the suffering caused by the illness, that's great.
I wouldn't have said no to an air purifier either. Many construction and renovation jobs at home create a lot of dust.

Already diagnosed. OCD, hypochondria I've diagnosed myself. Recurring depressions.
I feel completely fucked up today. The asbestos cleaner ended the worry, but I'm definitely down, whether it's the meds or my psyche is another matter.
In any case, I could never have moved home without that cleaner, and staying at my friend's place is already wearing on me after just 3 days.. I'm a person who needs personal time and clear routines.
Still, I think some people here take asbestos too lightly. Think of an asbestos fiber.

Where does it say that it is an asbestos filter?
Isn't it better to take samples and see if it contains asbestos, if it comes back with a result that it does not contain the substance, then you can let it go and move on with your life.

Why worry about something if you don't even check if it exists?
There are plenty of things you could worry about in a home......
Hmm...Google....does that mean everything on the internet is true?

I have written to the manufacturer and they claim it purifies for asbestos. Then it purifies for quartz dust, it seems to be this that people are most interested in removing. Quartz dust is 5um and asbestos is about 2, so logic tells me it works.
About 2 what? 2 m?, 2 mm?, 2 µm (micrometers)?raddforasbest said:
If the filter catches particles that are 5 µm, it's not certain that the filter will catch particles that are about 2 µm! Because 2 µm is smaller than 5 µm! When it comes to such small particles, 3 µm is a huge difference. It's like saying a one-year-old can't swallow a ball with a diameter of 2 cm when the child can't swallow a ball with a diameter of 5 cm, a 2 cm diameter ball can be deadly but a ball with a 5 cm diameter is not (since the child can't get such a large ball down their throat and it remains in the mouth).
Hepa filters usually handle particles down to 0.3 µm, so now the thread creator has something else to worry about.Demmpa said:About 2 what? 2 m?, 2 mm?, 2 µm (micrometer)?

However, I partially take back what I said about the supplier handling things flawlessly.. They have sent me the wrong item and don't seem to have the actual product in stock until Thursday.. What are they thinking really?
