I plan to demolish the drywall of the walk-in closet in the hallway and place tall Ikea cabinets with openings facing the hallway. Can I attach the cabinets to the ceiling with L-shaped brackets and then screw drywall onto the back of the cabinets?

Should it be reinforced in any other way?

Attaching to the ceiling should be fine, hard to answer without more exact info/pictures...

I don't think you can attach/screw the plasterboard directly to the back of the wardrobes, but of course, it depends on how they are built? However, you can probably glue and screw an OSB/Plyfa/Particle board to the wardrobe first and then put up the plasterboard against this!

if you have space, I would frame with 45X45 and attach the plasterboard against it. It will be simpler and sturdier in the long run.

Thank you!

A silly question, but what does limskruva mean?

You both glue and screw it in place. That way, the two methods reinforce each other.

A dumb question, but what is meant by "limskruva"?
Glue and screw.

Actually, glue, and screw immediately before the glue dries.

edit: 2nd ....
Silver medal = first loser ... :D

Speaking of glue screws...
Isn't the most important part to get good pressure on the glue joint so the joint provides the highest strength (Mainly applies to glues that do not have load-bearing capacity themselves).
Hence the screwing, to achieve good pressure on the entire surface throughout the drying time....

Or am I wrong...

I think you are right.

Thank you for the detailed answers!
