Hello!

I have recently bought a sturdy timber house with 1 floor plus a basement that needs quite a bit of interior renovation, and I wonder if anyone might have an idea if the wall, according to the attached images, is load-bearing. I will, of course, contact a structural engineer, but the one in our family is currently too afraid of Covid-19 and wants to wait with visits until the pandemic calms down (the gentleman in question is 76 years old).

If the wall is load-bearing, a glulam beam will be installed; otherwise, it will simply be taken down.

Thanks in advance
Best regards, Jonas.

  • Ritning av bottenplan på timmerhus med markerad vägg som ägaren undrar om är bärande.
  • House floor plan highlighting a wall in pink, potentially load-bearing, between dining and kitchen areas. Rooms labeled, seeking renovation advice.
  • Blueprint showing a floor plan with a wall highlighted in red, possibly under discussion for being load-bearing.
  • Interior view of a timber house hallway, showing a wall potentially being assessed for structural support before renovation.
  • Interior hallway with a wooden chair, vacuum, and a doorway leading to a kitchen. Walls and ceiling are wood-paneled, featuring a decorative picture frame.
  • Hallway in a timber house with a potential load-bearing wall; features wooden trim, carpet, coat rack, and framed art. Query about whether wall is load-bearing.
The roof trusses are therefore positioned in this direction.

  • Floor plan with pink lines indicating the direction of roof trusses across rooms including bedrooms and living room.
Any sectional drawing? What do the roof trusses look like?

I realized that a lot of information is missing, I'll take photos of more drawings and roof trusses when I get home from work.
