Hello,
Should one apply tape and joint compound at the seams of drywall boards??
I was thinking that the long sides of the drywall boards are chamfered, maybe it becomes uneven when you lay the tiles on it.

I've framed, will put up plywood and then drywall boards on top.
The kitchen and tiles on the drywall boards will go up on it later.

Thanks for all the answers.

No, you will not need to apply tape if you are tiling on the gypsum. The tape is only needed when you are wallpapering. You can fill the bevels if you want, otherwise you just apply more setting material on them.

purely logically/physically, why use a strip when tiling?

Just think that the beveled edges meet and it becomes uneven, might have to fill it with spackel...

So how should I do now then??
Got the plywood in place now.

Should I cut off all the beveled edges and then just screw the drywall in place without plastering??
