Hello all wise ones!
I am planning to modernize my small cottage from the 50s. Among other things, the electrical wiring will be replaced and embedded in the walls. At the same time, I’m planning to install an FTX ventilation system in the house. My question is whether I should take the opportunity to install a vapor barrier on the outer walls when I have to open them up anyway?
Today I probably have masonite on the outside (as seen from the inside of the house), and then boards underneath that. Then you should probably find the insulation, whatever it might be.
Am I going overboard if I remove the masonite and boards, replace the insulation, install a vapor barrier, do the electrical wiring, and then add drywall?
