Hello
I am working on an extension to the cabin and have now put up the glue-laminated beam that will be at the ridge. Since it will be open to the ridge, the beam will be visible from the inside. Now I am wondering if the beam should be treated with some form of varnish, oil, or similar to protect the surface during the construction period. Or will it help to have a tarp over the glulam beam to prevent the sun and rain from making it greyish?
