Support wall, expandable rod - does it exist?
I have a pool that is built on a sloping plot. Soil has been added on one long side to fill in, and the soil is held back by a concrete wall, regular L-blocks. These have now started to give way...
A meter from the wall, there are sturdy cast pillars in the ground that support a wooden deck, which lies on top of everything.
To avoid digging around the pool and redoing everything but still prevent the impending disaster, I thought of supporting the wall with some sort of expandable steel rod, which would then go from the cast pillars diagonally upward to support the wall. It's a distance of about 1m.
My question now is - does something like that even exist? I'm thinking of a type of bar you put in a doorway and strengthen your back muscles with, but a bit more durable of course. So you can put the steel rod in place and then screw it out until it provides proper support (and maybe push the wall back a little at the same time).

You could use stämp to try to push back the L-stöden as much as possible, and at the same time install fixed, custom-fit bars/pipes on site, and once these are in place, remove the stämp.
However, steel pipes/bars might not look that nice and could be quite a tripping hazard. An alternative could be to fill in more mass with a slope or to build a new retaining wall just outside the L-stöden.
A big question, though, is why the L-stöden are giving way? They usually hold up for most things. Was the groundwork not done properly?

Perfect, stämp seems to be what I need. Learned a new word today 
The wall is overbuilt, so there's no tripping hazard. I'll see if I can take a picture of the mess and maybe get some other good ideas
It's probably 20-30 years since it was built and with the pressure from above on the soil masses, it has probably given way somewhere.
