What is the name of a metal rod with a jack function that you can use to support a beam when you are about to replace the bottom beam, or more importantly where can you buy such at a reasonable price? :S

do you mean STÄMP maybe?

Ok thanks, where can you find those?

oh how quick you were, real mind readers, thank you

no, it should be a long metal rod with something that spins in the middle with threads, kind of
that makes the rod longer and clamps up beam or whatever

Then it's probably stämp as daugaard suggested.

can be rented at places like cramo or similar. don't know about buying.

Available for purchase at Swedol

If it's a very large job you're going to do, it might be time-efficient to buy real stämp, otherwise it works just as well with a few paired 45x95 studs. Cut a little a few millimeters longer than the desired measurement, lift with the garage jack, place your studs, lower down.

Thank you Mathias, the simple is of course the best!
