Hello!
I am planning to renovate our entrance (installing a large porch).
Above it, there is a balcony (about 1.5m deep)
Two-story blue house with a door, windows, and a balcony above the entrance. A grill and plants are on the porch below the balcony.
Today, there is support on the wall of an extension (right in the picture) and a post by a staircase. (100x100mm)
When the porch is completed, the left support for the balcony will disappear. (i.e., needs to be relocated)

To "find" a support point for the balcony, the support should first be moved (midway between the window and the door)
and extended out in the picture perhaps 2m. The balcony will simultaneously become significantly deeper. (and easier to use)
Under the floor of the porch, which, in addition to other things, includes metal and insulation etc. (about 300mm thick) there is a sill (or brick wall)

I would prefer to avoid a large square hole in the metal/insulation that must be sealed.
A post support bracket could be a solution (then probably only a hole that can be sealed with silicone or bitumen is needed.)
1) Will a post support bracket hold? (what diameter should the "pin" be?)
2) Is there a post support bracket available for purchase? (the "pin" needs to be quite long to reach through insulation)
3) How do you do it? - If the post is large and nice, it doesn't look good with a "thin" pin up through the floor supporting the balcony.
4) Can the post support bracket be made by oneself? (how?)
