I'm a bit stuck in my current project where the kitchen's dining area will be relocated, which means a load-bearing wall is in the way and needs to be removed. I've tried to contact structural engineers in Stockholm, but those I've reached only work with companies and aren't interested in making an exception. I plan to do the work myself, but feel someone knowledgeable should calculate what kind of beam (steel or glulam) I need. The programs I've found online aren't adaptable for my house type or I haven't understood how to use them, so I'm turning to you here in the forum for some help/tips/calculations on how to proceed. Attached are some drawings of what's to be done.
