Structural strength of wooden shelving system
The subject line is possibly incorrect so I will try to explain the "problem" I am facing.
My idea is to build a pallet rack/shelf construction where I can stack Häckar containing stone, weight about 600kg/sqm.
The Häckar to be stored in the pallet rack have the dimensions l1200*b920*h720 and in my case, there will be 2 sections in height that fit.
I have looked at Svenskt Trä and tried to understand the mathematics behind calculating the strength of wooden beams/glulam beams but honestly do not understand enough.
Is there a kind soul here who can help me discuss a reasonable solution regarding the dimension of the wood?

That may very well be the case and the desire for a DIY project might be inappropriate considering the extent of the construction.MathiasS said:
